While I was searching for a tab for Steve McQueen, Sheryl Crow, to use with my band, I came across three to four tabs. None of them were correct and none covered all parts of the song. I searched and found Music Notes, which offered both a digital download as well as a printed version. My experience with the service is reflected in this review.
Music Notes sells sheet music online for over 100,000 titles that you can download and then print immediately. The site also offers a wide selection of titles for the Guitar Guru software. This allows you to download and print sheet music instantly, as well as learn and play the music using an animated fretboard that is displayed on your computer screen.
Website Interface and Software
The site interface is simple and clear. It also has a great search feature that makes finding songs easy. The site’s best feature is the ability to view the first page score so that you can determine if the arrangement suits your needs (easy chords, detailed tab, and standard …). notation).
You will need to install plug-in software on your web browser in order to preview and print music. Music Notes site automatically identified the right software for me and my browser. I was able to download the entire Music Notes Suite. The installation was fast and easy. This suite also includes Guitar Guru software.
Purchase
It is simple to purchase music using the familiar shopping cart. You can also pay via Paypal. Credit cards are also accepted.
The music purchased can be printed immediately. Or, if you’d prefer, you may print it later using the link in the confirmation email. Music Notes offers multiple ways to download and print music. However, I found that some websites only offer one way to download and print music Fakaza.
I used the PDF printer driver that was installed on my PC to print to PDF instead of paper. You can see the music on screen without printing, or you can easily print another copy if you lose or wear the original.
Price
Music Notes website prices seem to be $5.25. Guitar Guru versions cost $2 more. Special offer: $1 off when I bought my title. If you purchase six or more scores, you can receive volume discounts of up 20%.
Sheet Music Score and Sheet Music Direct offer similar sheetmusic for $0.99 to $3.95, depending on the arrangement. Music Notes offers a wider selection than these, and I couldn’t find the title I was looking for on either of them. Sheet Music Direct offers only ten Sheryl Crow titles as a download.
Guitar Guru
Guitar Guru was my favorite version. It has more parts than the printed transcription. The printed sheet music contains only two guitar parts.
The animated fretboard with tempo control and the fretboard made it easier to learn the parts and much quicker than using the tab.
Conclusion
Overall, I had a positive experience with Music Notes. The site was very user-friendly and everything went smoothly, including downloading and printing.
I was delighted to purchase the official, legal version and will most likely repeat the experience for other songs.
